BSNL warns user about SMS fraud
The company said users should not share their personal information with anyone via SMS. If this is done then SMS can be a victim of fraud. The company said the fraudsters take KYC details from users via SMS and then steal money from their bank. According to media reports, fraudsters call users under the cover of BSNL employees and then retrieve their information and say that their SIM is being suspended due to lack of KYC details.
As soon as BSNL was informed about this, it came to know that the fraudsters were using KYC details through SMS to withdraw money from the users’ bank accounts. The SMS header or sender ID consists of six letters in which the company name is being used. The headers for such spam messages are ‘CP-SMSFST, AD-VIRINF, CP-BLMKND, and BP-ITLINN’. BSNL has asked users to beware of such messages. The company has made it clear that these messages are not being sent by the company, so they should be ignored, otherwise, all your money may be stolen from your bank account.
